Bob was inducted to the Colorado Handball Hall Of Fame in 2001, where his plaque reads:

Bob arrived in Denver in 1968 when the YMCA had a handball roster of approximately 125 players, 35 of which played at the highest level. Bob didn’t arrive at the Y without skills. He had already established himself in Sioux Falls as the city’s top ranked player and singles champion. Bob competed with Denver’s best and won numerous state titles in Open, Masters and Golden Masters over 3 decades. Bob played Carlsen, Wood, Furjanic and Moore; the best that Denver had to offer. He won the Rocky Mountain Regionals at both the Open and the Masters level. Having competed in Colorado tournaments from 1968 through 1984, Bob placed 1st in 21 of 32 events. He was distinguished in 1975 as the Denver Athletic Club’s Athlete of the year. In addition to an illustrious handball career, Bob and his wife Liz raised 5 children and ran a successful accounting business.
